V/. Adorámus te, Christe, et benedícimus tibi.
R/. Quia per sanctam crucem tuam redemísti mundum.
V/. We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you.
R/. For by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
8TH STATION Large numbers of people followed him, and of women too, who mourned amd lamented for him. But Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me but rather for yourselves and your children."
[Luke 22: 27, 28]

Spend a few moments in silent reflection:
- Do I weep for Jesus, but forget to examine my own conscience?
- Do I weep for Jesus, but fail to be concerned about those less fortunate than myself?
Amo te, o Jesu, mi Amor, magis quam meípsum,
et ex íntimo corde pænitet me quod tibi displícui.
Ne sinas me íterum a te separári.
Da mihi perpétuum amórem tui,
et dein fac de me quidquid tibi placúerit.
I love you Jesus, my Love, above all things;
I repent with my whole heart for having offended you.
Never permit me to separate myself from you again.
Grant that I may love you always,
then do with me what you will.
Vidit suum dulcem natum
moriéndo desolátum
dum emísit spíritum
Bruised, derided, cursed, defiled,
she beheld her tender child,
till His Spirit forth he sent.
