FOURTH STATION
Jesus is met by his Blessed Mother
V/. Adorámus te, Christe, et benedícimus tibi. R/. Quia per sanctam crucem tuam redemísti mundum. |
V/. We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. R/. For by your holy cross you have redeemed the world. |
How can I describe you, to what compare you, daughter of Jerusalem? Who can rescue and comfort you, virgin daughter of Zion? For huge as the sea is your affliction. [Lam. 2:13] Spend a few moments in silent reflection: - Does my love for Jesus give Mary any comfort, or does my half-hearted love add to her afflictions? - Do I give Mary the love and honour due to her as the Mother Jesus entrusted to us? |
|
Amo te, o Jesu, mi Amor, magis quam meípsum, et ex íntimo corde pænitet me quod tibi displícui. Ne sinas me íterum a te separári. Da mihi perpétuum amórem tui, et dein fac de me quidquid tibi placúerit. |
I love you Jesus, my Love, above all things; I repent with my whole heart for having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always, then do with me what you will. |
Quæ mœrébat et dolebat et tremébat cum vidébat nati pœnas íncliti. |
Christ above in torment hangs; she beneath beholds the pangs of her dying glorious Son. |
