THIRD STATION
Jesus falls the first time
V/. Adorámus te, Christe, et benedícimus tibi. R/. Quia per sanctam crucem tuam redemísti mundum. |
V/. We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. R/. For by your holy cross you have redeemed the world. |
And yet ours were the sufferings he bore, ours the sorrows he carried. But we, we thought of him
as someone punished, struck by God, and brought low. [Isaiah 53:4] Spend a few moments in silent reflection: - How have my thoughts, words and actions added to Jesus' sufferings and sorrows? - Does what I say and do help others to know and love God, or does it cause them to stumble? |
|
Amo te, o Jesu, mi Amor, magis quam meípsum, et ex íntimo corde pænitet me quod tibi displícui. Ne sinas me íterum a te separári. Da mihi perpétuum amórem tui, et dein fac de me quidquid tibi placúerit. |
I love you Jesus, my Love, above all things; I repent with my whole heart for having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always, then do with me what you will. |
O quam tristis et afflícta fuit illa benedícta Mater Unigéniti! |
Oh how sad and sore distressed was that mother highly blessed, of the sole-begotten One! |
